A testing coordinator at a Florida middle school who was filling in as an eighth-grade teacher played an integral role in preventing a potential school shooting, The News-Press reports. Laura Davis, who has been teaching in the state for 24 years, was covering the Lehigh Acres, Florida classroom because of shortages due to COVID-19. She said she doesn't consider herself a hero and was just doing her job after she reported the incident. The Lee County Sheriff's Office began an investigation, and deputies arrested two boys in connection to the incident. Davis said she hopes they get the help that they need.
