Florida will challenge the Biden administration's COVID-19 vaccine mandate in federal court, Gov. Ron DeSantis (de-SAN-tis) said Thursday. Speaking at a Florida Department of Health office in Fort Myers, DeSantis promised that the requirement on businesses and hospitals, QUOTE "will go down," The News-Press reports. President Biden’s mandate has yet to be released but is expected later this month. The nationwide requirement would apply to hospitals that treat Medicare and Medicaid patients, as well as employers with 100 or more employees. Some Florida hospitals and businesses have already implemented vaccine requirements ahead of the forthcoming federal rule. The Florida Department of Health is investigating a number of businesses statewide for possibly violating a state law that prohibits the use of such mandates, including vaccine passports.
