Florida State University has a real who-dun-it on its hands. Someone stole nearly five thousand items housed by Florida State University Special Collections & Archives at Strozier Library in Tallahassee, the university confirmed Friday. In all, 4,996 items are missing. That consists of comic books, science fiction, fantasy, and horror novels, the university said in an email to the Tallahassee Democrat. Over 12-hundred serial titles are represented, predominantly from the 1950s through the 1970s. Publications include those by Marvel Comics, D.C. Comics, underground publishers, foreign-language titles, and pulp magazines. The Florida State University Police Department says the theft is an ongoing active investigation.
