Florida’s gas prices are nearly a dollar more than they were last year, despite a slight dip in prices in the last week. The average price of gas is under $3 dollars a gallon, according to AAA-Auto Club South in its weekly gasoline prices briefing, after a 2-cent drop. That followed what was an expected increase after Hurricane Ida. This time last year, average gasoline prices were 83 cents more. Currently, the most expensive metro market is the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area, where gas costs an average of $3.15 per gallon. The least expensive metro markets in the state are the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area and The Villages, where gas is priced at $2.95 per gallon on average.
