A number of major Northwest Florida military initiatives are slated for funding in the U.S. House of Representatives Armed Services Committee's version of the federal defense spending and policy bill for the upcoming fiscal year. The bill, reviewed last week, will now go to the full House of Representatives for consideration. A separate military spending bill is making its way through the Senate in similar fashion. After any differences between the two bills are ironed out in Congress, the proposed National Defense Authorization Act for the 2022 fiscal year will go to President Joe Biden for final action. One version of the NDAA could reportedly bring more than $600 million in federal dollars to Florida's 1st congressional district.
