Police recovered the remains of missing Florida Panhandle woman Latonya Baxter on Sunday evening after a traveler happened upon her body in a rural area just over the Alabama border, bringing an end to a 15-day search effort. A Pensacola Police Department spokeswoman said that the Escambia County Sheriff's Office in Alabama officially located the woman around 6 p.m. Sunday in a wooded area off Highway 113. Forty-year-old Baxter had been reported missing on September 12th. Baxter's roommate, 38-year-old Giles Curt Jones, was arrested three days later on a premeditated first-degree murder charge after Pensacola police found blood spatter in the trunk of Jones' car, and in three places inside the home they shared.
