It's one of Florida's cardinal beach rules: Leave sea turtles and their nests alone. But not everyone follows it. Palm Beach police on Friday arrested a West Palm Beach woman and charged her with disturbing a nest, the town's first turtle-related apprehension since May 2009, the Palm Beach Post reports. A town police officer saw her dig up unhatched eggs from a nest and place them on the beach along Ocean Boulevard near Worth Avenue, according to the arrest record. Experts say handling sea turtles is dangerous for the animals for plenty of reasons.
