IN todays episode of the Flinders Fringe podcast, we dive into the spirit and story of the SEA WOLVES HOWL Gala Performance.


Claire Thorn, festival convenor, is joined by performance creator Carole Patullo, and some of the original sea wolves, Noa Smith Fletcher and mother Jen. 

We learn about the Mount Martha Sea Wolves origin story, an intrepid intergenerational group of up to 60 Mornington Peninsula-based people, who meet on Mount Martha beach every morning at dawn. 

They enter the sea, join hands, howl like wolves, and plunge into the often freezing water. 

A ritual that was founded on community, support, and completely judgement free, the mornings have become a space that has saved peoples mental health and created life long connections. 


Carole chats about adapting the Sea Wolves into a performance and the importance of capturing the spirit and essence of the Sea Wolves.
