Kate escaped the rat race of Sydney over the weekend and tried to have a dinner date under the radar. But because of her famously handsome dinner guest, she wasn’t able to keep it that lowkey... Find out who she was playing theatre sports with in the restaurant!
This is the Fits In with Her with Kate Richie podcast. Richie has had a sweekend?
No, I actually haven't.
And I'm not going to bring what did the straws look like?
Tables? Tables? I'm not going to bring stories to the table if you steal the story from me and give and give your version of events. I did go away for the weekend with a girlfriend, very.
Dear, two person hands party old.
It wasn't a Hans party. Those days are over for the two of us. In fact, it was actually my girlfriend Beckett. Was her birthday yesterday. Have you heard? She's from Brisbane and so we both flew to Melbourne on Friday just to get away for the weekend. Awesome. Saw some friends down there, stayed with them.
How was the gossip between you and back when the girls get Tommy, you know what I'm talking about. When the sisters are hanging come, oh my god, imagine the topics and imagine if you could be far on the wall at dinner. That that's a TV show, isn't it. Kate and beck take on the world.
It's actually quite embarrassing because we get so we don't get to see each other very often, and she will usually give me a call when she's on her way to pick up her sons from football training and she's got six six minutes, and she'll say she doesn't catch me. She'll leave me a voice smail that sometimes I won't really listen to, but if I do, it says I'm just calling because I'm on the way to soccer football training. If you can't call me back in the next two minutes, don't call me, and I'll talk to you in you know, sixty days.
Your sister call me back. I think I'm perryman apausal.
That's not what we talk about, mate, It's not what we talk about. Oh we did do a little bit of that.
Actually, it's also.
Something else to look forward to in this lovely life of ours. But yeah, very excited, and we get overly a bit like when I'm telling this story. Now, we know we only have a certain amount of time and there's so many things that we need to catch up on. And most stories start with I don't I don't know if I told you this yet, but then they did this, and oh my goodness. Anyway, look, part of the part of the reason for going away is to, you know, see friends get together take a breath, get out of Sydney. Not even think about work, don't don't like, just imagine that you are far far away.
No paparazzi.
The people that we had that we were staying with, we actually met them when we both turned forty and we traveled to Italy, beck and night. We did a bit of a trip for our fortieth birthday.
Beautiful, great story.
You just want to know into? Oh I like to paint the pictures, would you know? Well, I actually ran into I ran into yesterday. I ran into a woman who worked in a shop in like rural Victoria. She did the flowers for my wedding.
Why did you You didn't remember her?
I did, did you? I did? I said you, But you had cropped hair then, and she said I did too. That was like many years ago. Anyway, that's not the story. That's not who I ran into when I got on. When I got to Melbourne, we settled into the house. We had some lovely lemon slice and a cup of tea and fresh raspberries from the garden, like seriously beautiful. We get ready for dinner and we walk into the restaurant, which is at a golf club and You'll never guess who I see. And it's not one person, it's four people. And I and I walk out the back of the restaurant and I'm looking over at this gorgeous view. The Wiggles, one after the other. Get ready for get ready for these names. I'm going to start with rob Sitch awesome. Then I'm going to move on to Glenn Robins loves his golf. No, my nose is because I'm.
Just sniff working dog.
Yeah, so they are there. Then I thought it was you for a minute, Mick malloy, Yes, Mick mlloy, followed by he rounds the corner. Smallest of the group, I mean debatable. Maybe Glenn's smaller, I don't know. He pops up from the back, mister Sam Pang. Yes, So where I'm staying for the weekend, there they are. This is an attempt to get out of Sydney, get away from even radio men. I love my job in radio, but you know, I don't really want to talk about radio. I want to have the weekend away. No disrespect to any of these men and the people that they were with, lovely group, but I just wanted to I could not, so did you could not believe it you.
Been paying attention.
