SA's Afrikaner community concerned of population decline & cultural identity

View descriptionShare

Concerns are mounting within South Africa's Afrikaner community about a perceived decline in their population and threats to their cultural identity. Changes to language policies, notably the contentious Bela Bill, have sparked fears for the future of Afrikaans-speaking schools and the preservation of the language. However, critics argue that such separate communities perpetuate segregation and undermine post-apartheid unity efforts. For more on this, Elvis Presslin spoke to Mr. Strydom
