The South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) has dismissed the Western Cape Education Department's proposal to cut 2,400 teaching posts. This due to an alleged 33% underfunding by the national government. SADTU, COSATU and other unions are threatening a strike action if the budget cuts are not recalled.
