No historical pay increases to City of Tshwane officials

View descriptionShare

The ANC-led coalition in Tshwane has decided not to pay historical salary increases to city officials. This decision comes after the coalition had initially promised to pay the increases. The city is contesting rulings that denied its requests for exemptions from the 3.5% and 5.4% salary hikes. Their argument is that these increases could exacerbate financial instability and compromise essential service delivery. In a recent statement, the city confirmed that it has requested a fresh review of the 3.5% increase and a revised judgment on the 5.4% hike. To delve deeper into this issue, Elvis Presslin spoke to Bafuze Yabo, the ANC regional spokesperson in Tshwane
