Johannesburg Mayor, Dada Morero, says Jo'burg Water is not in a crisis as the system remains stable. Morero briefed the media on the city's water challenges, after the South African Human Rights Commission released it's report into the systemic failures in Gauteng's water and sanitation services. The SAHRC found ageing infrastructure, poor maintenance, leakages and weak accountability as some of the reasons for the city's water woes. It also raised concern about growing reliance on water tankers, warning that the practice may be benefiting service providers and municipal officials at the expense of communities.
