Western Cape police say an inquest docket has been registered into the death of disgraced former Steinhoff CEO Markus Jooste. He allegedly shot himself yesterday. His death comes a day after he was fined R475 million by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority. Jooste, was named as the mastermind behind the R106 billion accounting scandal that almost sank Steinhoff in 2017.
