The Pretoria High Court is set to deliver its judgement on the highly contested case between the Information Regulator and the Department of Basic Education. The regulator is seeking to halt the publication of the 2024 matric results in newspapers, citing concerns over privacy and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). The department, however, argues that it has been publishing results in this manner since 2014 without any issues. Elvis Presslin spoke to Matakanye Matakanya, General Secretary for the National Association of School Governing Bodies, to shed light on this critical matter
