Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi is facing a legal challenge over her decision to limit the jurisdiction of the Pretoria High Court. The Pretoria Society of Advocates and the Pretoria Attorneys Association want the decision reviewed and set aside. The Government Gazette notice, which came into effect in July, confines the Pretoria court strictly to the Tshwane area, ending its previous province-wide concurrent jurisdiction with the Johannesburg High Court.
