The Green Connection has expressed shock and concern over the approval of Shell's Environmental Impact Assessment for the Northern Cape Ultra Deep oil and gas exploration project. The decision, made by the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, comes despite strong objections from coastal communities and civil society groups, including The Green Connection and Natural Justice, who submitted detailed concerns in August and December last year.
