Bed wetting remains a silent struggle in many households due to stigma

View descriptionShare

Bed wetting is one of the most common childhood conditions, yet it remains a silent struggle in many households due to stigma, shame, and misinformation. A South African study found that 16% of children aged 5 to 10 experience bedwetting, with the condition occurring twice as often in boys than in girls. Dr Andrew Ferreirinha, a pediatrician says bed wetting is not a behavioral issue or a parenting failure but a developmental condition that most children will outgrow with the right support. To discuss this further we are joined on the line by Dr. Andrew Ferreirinha, a pediatrician at Mediclinic Kloof..
