The ANC Youth League says it is outraged by the Auditor-General's findings that NSFAS paid bursaries to more than 800 deceased beneficiaries. The league says thousands of ineligible recipients also received funds meant for poor and working-class students. It calls the revelations a betrayal of young people who rely on NSFAS to access higher education. The ANCYL is demanding an immediate investigation, consequence management for officials involved, and a full system overhaul. It says education is key to economic emancipation and the misuse of funds attacks the future of South Africa's youth. The League's Treasurer-general is Jacob Tau
