The Portfolio Committee on Social Development has raised the alarm over the rise in femicide cases with unidentified perpetrators, now at 44%, up from 30% in 2017. A briefing by the SA Medical Research Council revealed that South Africa records three women killed daily by intimate partners, making intimate partner femicide the leading cause.
