Civil rights group AfriForum has written to Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana demanding an independent audit of the fuel price and all levies. The organization wants scrutiny of how the charges are calculated, where the money goes and the impact on consumers, transport and agriculture. AfriForum says the temporary levy cut should be made permanent or reinstated, arguing global oil prices and pressure on households have worsened since June.
