There's been a change in strategy by Russia in their invasion of Ukraine, setting up the possibility of a big showdown in a few days. Clayton Neville reports in our correspondent close-up. And later in the podcast, we'll go to Ukraine and talk to Peter Zalmayev, director of the Eurasia Democracy Initiative.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief medical adviser to the White House, said Americans should continue assessing risk for themselves as COVID-19 cases tick up. John Stolnis reports on that for us.

And there's a new study that shows human life expectancy in the United States has fallen yet again. We'll find out why when we talk to Dr. Steve Woolf, who helped author the study.
