View descriptionShare

Zachary Babcock, host of top-rated Apple podcast ‘Underdog Empowerment’ joins the show to share his story of how he went from spending 5 years in prison to building a six-figure business. Together they discuss how ‘fire in the belly’ is to have a burning desire to achieve your dreams, how you can’t control what happens in life, only how you react to change and the importance of knowing when you need to ask for help.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Fire in the belly is the burning feeling in you where you have the urge to go out into the world and achieve your dreams. It is not like an interest or a hobby, you are determined to go and turn your dream into a reality and make it happen no matter what odds are stacked against you.
  • Quit blaming other people for your problems and take ownership of each and every single thing in your life. Everything that is wrong in your life, is your responsibility and everything that is right with your life is also your doing.
  • Whilst luck may play a small part in things, you control the reality of your situation. Whilst you can’t control everything you can decide to be miserable about your life or you can choose to rebuild your life, be strong and help others that have gone through similar things.
  • When you hit that six-figure mark, you have found financial freedom. You have the ability to create systems to remove yourself from the majority of the company so that you are able to spend your time spending quality time with those around you.
  • Don’t let your ego get in the way of owning up to your mistakes and what you are doing to fix it. We are all human and we all make mistakes. Whenever you can share your mistakes, you have the opportunity to build stronger relationships with your audience.
  • You are one person, and just like everybody else you only have 24 hours in a day. There is only so much you as an individual can do and eventually you will reach a point where you can no longer go forward without other people. The sooner you realise that the faster you can grow.
  • Eliminate, automate, delegate. Look at your tasks and ask yourself if you can eliminate the task, if you can’t, ask yourself whether you can automate the process. If the task cannot be automated, delegate it to another member of staff. A business is built to serve you not you to serve it. If nobody else can do the task except you, then those are the ones to focus on.

BEST MOMENTS
