Joey used tragedies in his life as a catalyst for a massive shift in how he was showing up in life. He was using a parade of pretentiousness to mask the pain, anger, and insecurities he was hiding from. He was deploying fashion, athletics, and other personas to manage a public appearance of physicality, status, and expertise. He believed when a man looked good and spoke well, little else mattered. He thought he was living an amazing life until he realized if he was going to experience the true fullness of life, he needed to change.
