John started practicing martial arts and it changed his life completely. He left the gang life he had slipped into and put all of his trauma and anger into martial arts. It taught him discipline, focus and how to direct his energy.
After having a difficult start to recovery in rehab, John eventually broke down. This is when his road to recovery truly started. He then decided he wanted to become a counselor himself so he went back to high school to get his GED and the rest is history.
John truly believes that no matter what has happened to you in life or where you came from you can find happiness and success. You just have to never give up. Listen to yourself and your inner voice.
John has done everything he has just to help others. It’s never been about money or notoriety, he just wants to help people live the lives they deserve. He doesn’t take credit when people manage to get clean as he recognises it is them that have done the work to do so, he has just offered guidance.
