Hello. I'm Jamilla Risby. I've been a journalist for oh god, too long, maybe ten years now, But growing up as an Indian Australian, I heard and I read and I watched stories being told by people who didn't look like me, whose experiences weren't like mine. Whether it's our first people's or our most recent arrivals, Australia is full of diverse storytellers. Enter, find and tell. This is the search for the next generation of Australian storytellers. Think of it like one of those Reality TV singing competitions, just without the songs and the spinning chairs. We put out the word to unearth the best this country has to offer. Aspiring newsbreakers, laugh makers, commentators, you name it, and people from all walks of life answered the call. All right, Kulay one named b I am Kate. I am Iranian Australian. Come Mike. My name is Nan and my background is Kareem. I come from a culture that weaves tales through food, through song. Hel't believe something like this has been made for emerging diverse talent. I want someone who's listening to a story that I come up with to feel like they're just sitting on the couch having a cup of tea. I'd love to be able to use some cultural aspects and tell some Indigenous stories as well. We whittled it down to the final four, flew them into iHeart HQ and gave them a crash course in podcasting before setting them free to find and tell the best stories this country has to offer. And now they're ready to go. Each episode our storytellers will be given a theme. Then they'll go head to head to find and tell the best story, and whoever does it best will be crowned the find and Tell Champion. So if you love listening to stories that are funny, emotional, or make you think, then you are in the right place us on the search for the next generation of Australian storytellers.
