In the last year alone, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission has commenced greenwashing action against Mercer, Vanguard and Active Super for allegedly providing misleading information over the ESG credentials of some investments.
At the same time, a Senate inquiry is underway into greenwashing, and Treasury is consulting on disclosure requirements that would align Australia with other parts of the world.
