Forty years ago this fall Wayne Cryts stored his beans in an elevator near New Madrid, MO. When the elevator went bankrupt a multi-year battle began for Wayne to get the right to sell those beans. Hundreds of farmers came to his aid, crossed lines of federal marshalls and brought the story to national attention. We traveled to Wayne’s home for a look back at the event.
