Your teen's favorite influencer is working a 90-hour week, and the glamorous life on screen is only a one-minute clip of it.

In this episode, Rick Probst sits down with Emily Tsiao, Editor at Plugged In from Focus on the Family, for an honest conversation about social media influencers, kids and online fame, and how parents and grandparents can help the young people in their lives navigate it all. Emily explains how influencers actually earn money, why so few make a livable wage, and what the pressure to be "always on" does to their well-being.

Listeners discover how to encourage a child's dream of becoming an influencer without dismissing it, how to help them research what it really takes, and how to talk about the values that matter more than likes and followers. Emily also shares her own story of stepping away from social media after it affected her as a teenager and young adult.

Emily helps families make sense of today's media culture as Editor at Plugged In, Focus on the Family's entertainment and media discernment ministry.
