Leah had decided a pastor was blasphemous before she had watched a minute of his sermon.

A guest cancelled, so this one is off the cuff, and it opens with Leah admitting she did the exact thing this show tells people not to do. She saw clips of Otha Turnbow's sermon on Jesus going to hell, felt the emotional charge, went looking for other people's reactions, and sealed his fate in her mind without going to the source. In this conversation she walks through the rebuke she got in her spirit, what she found when she finally watched the sermons, and why she says the short clip exists to deny you context and sell you a reaction instead.

The second half turns toward the economy around all of it. Leah and Malaine cover celebrity Christian culture and who is monetizing what, the Judas spirit running through exposure ministry, how to tell a watchman from an accuser, the man who publicly gave Jenny Weaver seventy two hours to live, and why loyalty to a ministry turns into idolatry faster than anybody expects. They close on holding every ministry loosely, the spiritual covering language nobody can find in scripture, and Jesus inviting the question at the foot of Mount Hermon.

"The truth doesn't need to hide from questioning. The only thing that needs to hide from questioning is deception."

-Leah Steele Barnett

Key Takeaways
Leah walks through her own week of judging a sermon off a clip, and the rebuke that stopped her.
Why the kingdom of darkness has an interest in keeping you off long form content, and what the three second hit is actually doing.
What Otha Turnbow's sermon on Jesus and hell actually says once you sit through all three of them in full.
Both hosts are monetizing, and they explain how an assignment from God and a Patreon can sit in the same hand.
The Judas spirit in exposure ministry, and the test Leah uses on how she feels after watching one.
How to tell a watchman from an accuser, including the one thing a watchman always does that an accuser never bothers with.
The man who publicly gave Jenny Weaver seventy two hours to live, and what she was doing when the deadline passed.
Why loyalty to a pastor or a platform turns into idolatry, and what Malaine says happens to your prophetic hearing once it does.
The spiritual covering and spiritual father language that neither of them can find anywhere in scripture.

Featured Scripture

Proverbs 18:17

"He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him." (KJV)

Application: The first version of a story always sounds airtight, which is exactly why God put a second step in the verse. Somebody has to come and search it. A forty second clip is the first voice, and so is the reaction video stacked on top of it, and neither one has been searched by anybody. Leah ran into this in her own week and names it plainly in the episode. Before you form a verdict on a brother or sister, go be the neighbour who searches it, which usually means watching the whole thing and reading the whole chapter.

The Bible is stranger, darker, and more glorious than you were taught. Let's talk about it.

Faith on the Fringe Podcast is where Leah Steele Barnett and Malaine Lea Butler explore the supernatural biblical worldview that most modern churches have quietly shelved. Spirit-Filled. Bible-Obsessed. Slightly Unhinged.

The Divine Council. Fallen Watchers. The Nephilim. Pre-flood history. Spiritual warfare with real teeth. We bring the scholarship, the Spirit, and zero religious performance.

We are not doom-scrolling through Revelation or building bunkers. This is a Kingdom-forward conversation rooted in the belief that God's story is bigger, wilder, and more victorious than mainstream theology has made room for.

For the believers who never stopped asking questions. For the Christ-followers who want the whole Bible, not just the comfortable parts.

MEET THE HOSTS OF FAITH ON THE FRINGE

LEAH STEELE BARNETT

Faith-led cultural commentator, AI educator, and host of The Culture Cast operating at the intersection of technology, culture, and Kingdom stewardship. She examines cultural deception, belief systems, and power structures through a biblical lens. She is pattern-oriented, allergic to hype, and built for the kind of theology that doesn't flinch. On The Fringe, she brings the research, the receipts, and a refusal to let comfortable doctrine go unchallenged.

MALAINE LEA BUTLER

Deliverance-driven disciple of Jesus Christ who walked out of the New Age and into radical transformation through the power of the Gospel. Host of Kingdom Talk and founder of Eden House, she creates space for raw, deep, and confrontational conversations that call hearts into full surrender and freedom in Christ. On The Fringe, she brings fire, spiritual authority, and zero tolerance for religious performance.
