The Truth of the Tithe masterclass

Why money and the body of Christ

The laws worked, the kingdom was wrong

The word believers cannot hear

Dress like you own the building

People are God's currency

The verse everybody misquotes

Poverty consciousness and critical mass

Caroline Leaf and rewiring the brain

Attachment, and why the tithe backs up

Stepping over a man on the way in

A warung burns down in Bali

The exodus from the traditional church

Stepping off the tightrope

People are tithing ten percent they do not have, then stepping over a man sleeping on the street on the way in.

The Truth of the Tithe, our free masterclass:

The ancient law of giving like you have never been taught it. Thursday September 24 at 8:30pm Eastern, which is Friday September 25 at 8:30am AWST and 12:30pm NZST. Free, on Zoom, with a replay for 48 hours to everyone who registers, and no offering.

Leah and Malaine both made serious money in the New Age, and both of them put every tool down when they came to Jesus. Lately they have been going back through the archive of their own lives and asking which of those tools were actually wrong and which ones were simply being used for the wrong kingdom. Sowing and reaping. Reciprocity. Showing up in a room in a way that shifts it. Speaking over your own life. The answer they keep landing on is that the principles work because God wrote them, and the body of Christ refuses to touch most of them because they sound New Age.

Meanwhile one misquoted verse has a critical mass of believers convinced that money itself is evil, handing ten percent they do not have to buildings that are doing perfectly well, and calling the arrangement obedience. Malaine on why attachment to the outcome blocks the very thing people are giving for. Leah on poverty consciousness, on Caroline Leaf and neural pathways, and on why she tithes to poor people. Then the personal half, on deconstruction, the exodus out of traditional church, and their decision to stop walking the tightrope on this podcast. So if the principles are real and the verse says something else, why is everybody broke?

"People are putting their money into tithing like it's a magic pill. And because they're doing it, then God owes them. God should be blessing me because I'm doing the right thing. I'm ticking off all the boxes."

-Malaine Lea Butler

Key Takeaways
The verse almost every Christian influencer gets wrong, and the single word that changes the whole meaning of it.
Both hosts made a lot of money in the New Age, and what they now say about which of those practices were actually wrong.
What God told Malaine about how she dresses before she walks into the basketball courts, and what happened when she did it.
Why tithing while attached to the outcome blocks the thing you are tithing for.
Caroline Leaf, neural pathways, and why Leah says belief alone will not get anybody out of lack.
Where Leah and Sean actually send their tithe, and the family in Bali who never asked for it.
Naaman, seven dips in a dirty river, and why there is no formula for your breakthrough.
Gehazi, and what he did after the healing that got him leprosy.
What both hosts are seeing right now about people leaving traditional church, and why they call deconstruction a good thing.

Featured Scripture

1 Timothy 6:10

"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." (KJV)

Application: Read the first five words slowly, because they are the ones that get dropped. The love of it. Paul is describing an appetite, the thing Leah calls worshiping at the altar of mammon, which she did for years and can describe from the inside. Money itself sits in the verse as the object of a disordered desire rather than the source of evil. Strip those words out, which is what happens every week from pulpits and reels, and you hand an entire body of believers a reason to be afraid of a tool. Read it whole, and the warning lands where Paul aimed it, on the heart and not the bank account.

Luke 6:38. Give, and it shall be given to you, pressed down and running over.

Deuteronomy 8:18. It is God who gives the power to get wealth.

Matthew 6:19-24. Treasure, the eye, and serving two masters.

James 1:27. Pure religion is caring for orphans and widows in their affliction.

2 Kings 5. Naaman dips seven times in the Jordan, and Gehazi goes after the payment his master refused.

This week, give to one person standing in front of you rather than one more line item, and ask Him first what the amount is. Then come to the masterclass and find out what the tithe was before anybody attached fundraising to it.

The Bible is stranger, darker, and more glorious than you were taught. Let's talk about it.

Faith on the Fringe Podcast is where Leah Steele Barnett and Malaine Lea Butler explore the supernatural biblical worldview that most modern churches have quietly shelved. Spirit-Filled. Bible-Obsessed. Slightly Unhinged.

The Divine Council. Fallen Watchers. The Nephilim. Pre-flood history. Spiritual warfare with real teeth. We bring the scholarship, the Spirit, and zero religious performance.

We are not doom-scrolling through Revelation or building bunkers. This is a Kingdom-forward conversation rooted in the belief that God's story is bigger, wilder, and more victorious than mainstream theology has made room for.

For the believers who never stopped asking questions. For the Christ-followers who want the whole Bible, not just the comfortable parts.

MEET THE HOSTS OF FAITH ON THE FRINGE

LEAH STEELE BARNETT

Faith-led cultural commentator, AI educator, and host of The Culture Cast operating at the intersection of technology, culture, and Kingdom stewardship. She examines cultural deception, belief systems, and power structures through a biblical lens. She is pattern-oriented, allergic to hype, and built for the kind of theology that doesn't flinch. On The Fringe, she brings the research, the receipts, and a refusal to let comfortable doctrine go unchallenged.

MALAINE LEA BUTLER

Deliverance-driven disciple of Jesus Christ who walked out of the New Age and into radical transformation through the power of the Gospel. Host of Kingdom Talk and founder of Eden House, she creates space for raw, deep, and confrontational conversations that call hearts into full surrender and freedom in Christ. On The Fringe, she brings fire, spiritual authority, and zero tolerance for religious performance.
