Forecasting Doom Is Witchcraft

Forecasting your own retaliation attack is a spell, and it gets spoken in church every week.

Leah and Malaine both came to Jesus out of the New Age, where a practitioner is trained to recall a negative word the second it leaves her mouth. That training was lifted from something God wrote first, and the hosts walk it back to Proverbs 23:7, Proverbs 18:21, and Ezekiel prophesying over a valley of dry bones. From there they get into the retaliation language moving through the body of Christ, where believers announce coming attacks over themselves and over each other, then read the fallout as proof of a powerful calling.

The conversation covers the Ha Satan of Job as an assigned member of God's divine council, dominion handed to man in Genesis 1:28, giving as a law that pays out for whoever operates it, the wilderness season new believers are promised, and the poverty preaching that kept Malaine peeking over the fence for a year before she said yes to Jesus. The question underneath all of it: when the hard season arrives at your door, who assigned it?

"All witchcraft doesn't look like a bunch of women in a coven sitting around a cauldron stirring up some potions. It looks like you coming into agreement with the kingdom of darkness."

-Leah Steele Barnett

Key Takeaways
Why the New Age trains its people to recall a negative word the second it is spoken, and what the church calls that same discipline when a believer does it.
The Ha Satan of Job sat on God's divine council with an assignment, which changes what the word warfare means when hard things show up at your door.
Abracadabra was the centerpiece of a training Leah taught for years, and the Proverb it borrows from is one most believers have already memorized.
Tithing was in her New Age curriculum too, along with the multimillionaires who give twenty percent of everything and cannot tell you why it works.
Ask a room of Christians who holds dominion on this earth and listen to the answer the majority give.
Financial struggle preached as a portion, and the snare that kept Malaine outside the kingdom of heaven for a solid year.
The church leader who warned Malaine she could run too fast for Jesus and leave her husband behind, and the author whose name she used to answer that.
The wilderness season that new believers are handed as a promise, and what Leah says it costs the New Agers who are watching from the fence.

Featured Scripture

Proverbs 23:7

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee." (KJV)

Application: The verse puts the thought life upstream of everything else. What a person rehearses on the inside becomes what that person is, which means the running commentary about coming attacks is doing work long before any attack arrives. Malaine reads this one on-mic to answer the charge that speaking over your own life belongs to prosperity gospel, and the text simply does not allow that dismissal. Take stock of what you have been rehearsing about your next season, out loud and under your breath. Then take it to the Father and ask Him what He says about it, because His account of your future is the one with authority behind it.

The prayer Malaine prays on-mic, promised in this episode:

"I do not come into agreement with that. I break agreement in Jesus' name. I plead the blood of Jesus over myself. And any of those word curses that they spoke intentionally, unintentionally, knowingly, unknowingly, I declare that they are deactivated, bearing no fruit or harvest in my life."

Pray it over yourself, your spouse, and your children.

The Bible is stranger, darker, and more glorious than you were taught. Let's talk about it.

Faith on the Fringe Podcast is where Leah Steele Barnett and Malaine Lea Butler explore the supernatural biblical worldview that most modern churches have quietly shelved. Spirit-Filled. Bible-Obsessed. Slightly Unhinged.

The Divine Council. Fallen Watchers. The Nephilim. Pre-flood history. Spiritual warfare with real teeth. We bring the scholarship, the Spirit, and zero religious performance.

We are not doom-scrolling through Revelation or building bunkers. This is a Kingdom-forward conversation rooted in the belief that God's story is bigger, wilder, and more victorious than mainstream theology has made room for.

For the believers who never stopped asking questions. For the Christ-followers who want the whole Bible, not just the comfortable parts.

On The Fringe, she brings the research, the receipts, and a refusal to let comfortable doctrine go unchallenged.

MALAINE LEA BUTLER
