It is an undeniable reality that to be queer in the face of heteronormativity is to be brave. Being a person of colour adds a layer of difficulty to expressing queerness, not just in our own communities, but to society at large.
After watching the hit Netflix show Heartstopper (based on the YA webtoon and graphic novels of the same name by Alice Oseman), we were both overtaken by a sense of nostalgia for something we never had, and in doing so came to explore our journeys towards living as open and proud queer men.
