New Technology Helps Manage Type 1 Diabetes in Children

View descriptionShare

Dr. Saleh Adi is a pediatric endocrinologist specializing in managing type 1 diabetes in children. He is founder of the Madison Clinic at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Adi came on the program to talk about new technology that can help type 1 diabetes patients, especially children with type 1 diabetes dramatically improve their health.

Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) is new technology that can help diabetes patients more effectively monitor their blood sugar. CGM also allows parents to monitor their child’s blood sugar levels remotely on their phones and can continuously provide blood sugar levels and monitoring capabilities.

CGM does away with the old pinprick system of monitoring blood sugar levels and gives better real-time readouts.
