Measles Reported In San Bernardino County

View descriptionShare

Measles is a highly contagious and potentially severe disease that causes fever, rash, cough and red, watery eyes. Measles spreads very easily by air and by direct contact with an infected person.

Diana Ibrahim came on the program to confirm that the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health (DPH) recently reported its first positive case of measles in the county this year.

Children are recommended to get their first dose of MMR vaccine at 12 to 15 months of age.

Residents planning to travel internationally should visit Travel Assessment to determine their vaccination status and risk of potential exposures to vaccine-preventable diseases.
