Lung cancer is the nation’s leading cause of cancer deaths. It kills 422 people every day – that’s approximately 18 deaths each hour, or 1 death about every 3.7 minutes.
In California only 18.5% of lung cancer cases are caught early highlighting the need for early detection. Lung cancer screening for individuals at high risk is the breakthrough needed to save more lives and turn the tide against lung cancer.
November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Dr. Jacob Sands, Thoracic Medical Oncologist came on the program to talk about how the American Lung Association has partnered with the Ad Council to launch a new round of national public service ads (PSAs) as part of their successful “Saved By The Scan” campaign.
