View descriptionShare

California is becoming a leader in the national fight against cancer but more can be done according to a state-by-state report released on August 1st by the American Cancer Society (ACS) Cancer Action Network (CAN), the advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society.

It is estimated that more than 1.7 million people in the United States will be newly diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and more than 600,000 people will die from the disease this year alone.

Primo Castro, California Government Relations Director for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network came on the program to talk about the results of the report that indicates California is meeting ACS CAN’s benchmarks in six of the eight issues.
