Jeff Clayton is the Executive Director of the American Bail Coalition, a trade organization comprised of national bail insurance companies that are responsible for underwriting criminal bail bonds throughout the U.S.

Bail reform has become a hot topic throughout the nation, with proponents of bail reform claiming that the cash bail system is unfair because it forces poor people to be stuck in jail, while those with financial means can “buy their way out.”

Mr. Clayton discussed some of the potential problems with California State Senate Bill 10 (SB 10) dealing with bail reform which will be put before voters in 2020.
