Growing Up Between Cultures: The Third Culture Kid Experience
What does it mean to grow up between cultures, and how does an international upbringing shape a child’s identity, confidence and sense of belonging? In this episode, we explore the Third Culture Kid experience in the UAE, where children grow up surrounded by diverse nationalities, languages, traditions and perspectives.
Joining us are Mr. Lewis Rattray, Deputy Headteacher Academic at Repton Dubai, and Fatma Suleiman, School Counsellor at Horizon English School. Together, they discuss how multicultural education shapes young people’s ambitions, encourages open-mindedness and builds a global outlook, while highlighting the importance of emotional wellbeing, cultural identity and inclusion from the Early Years through adolescence.
