In the latest instalment of #ExtraTime we focus on gymnastics. The sport of has been a strong part of communities for decades, and has produced some fine gymnasts over the years, not least of all Anne Vermaak herself, and more recently Caitlin Rooskrantz who qualified for the Olympic Games in 2020 (now 2021).
Vermaak talks to us about how important gymnastics is to all sports, and how it provides the fundamental skills for any athlete to be successful. She says gymnastics is a family sport that brings communities together.
She also reveals that there may be more South African gymnasts qualifying for the Olympic Games in the months to come.
