"Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock."
Matthew 7:24

What happens when life gets hard?

More importantly... what does it reveal?

In today's episode of Everyday Joy, Ash and Shaylee unpack one of Jesus' most well-known teachings: the wise builder and the foolish builder.

Together, they explore the powerful truth that both houses faced the same storm. The difference wasn't the storm. The difference was the foundation.

Ash and Shaylee discuss the temptation to build our lives on things that seem secure, like control, approval, plans, success, or certainty, only to discover they're unable to carry us when life gets difficult. They reflect on how easy it is to focus on the practical things while neglecting the deeper spiritual work of building a life rooted in God.

Shaylee shares honestly about a season of surrender and choosing to trust God even when the outcome is unclear, while Ash explores why difficult seasons often reveal where our trust has truly been placed.

This conversation is a powerful reminder that storms aren't necessarily a sign that something has gone wrong. Sometimes they reveal what God wants to strengthen.

Because faith isn't built when everything is easy.

It's revealed when everything feels uncertain.

If you've been navigating disappointment, uncertainty, difficult circumstances, or a season where you're learning to trust God more deeply, this episode will encourage you to keep building your life on the only foundation that never fails.
