"We love because He first loved us."
1 John 4:19

It's easy to love people who think like us, agree with us, and make life easy.

But what about the people who frustrate us? The people who see the world differently? The people we'd rather avoid?

In today's episode of Everyday Joy, Ash and Shaylee unpack the powerful truth at the heart of 1 John 4:19: our ability to love others begins with understanding how deeply God has loved us first.

Together, they explore why Christianity isn't a "pick and choose" faith, the challenge of loving people we disagree with, and how the story of the Good Samaritan completely reshapes what it means to be a neighbour. They discuss the danger of reducing people to their politics, beliefs, mistakes, or past, instead of seeing them as human beings made in the image of God.

This conversation is a powerful reminder that loving others isn't about agreement. It's about grace. After all, God didn't wait for us to get everything right before He loved us.

If you've been struggling with difficult people, feeling challenged by differing opinions, or needing a reminder of God's heart for others, this episode will encourage you to love the way you've been loved.
