Peace Is a Gift, Not a Goal | John 14:27

"I am leaving you with a gift, peace of mind and heart. The peace I give is one the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid."
John 14:27

What if peace isn't something you achieve?

What if it's something you receive?

In today's reflection, Ash unpacks one of Jesus' most comforting promises and explores the difference between the peace the world offers and the peace that only Jesus can give.

So often we tell ourselves we'll finally have peace when the problem is solved, when the answer arrives, when the relationship is restored, or when we feel more in control. But Jesus spoke these words to His disciples on the eve of His crucifixion. The future was uncertain. Hardship was coming. Yet in the middle of it all, Jesus talked about peace.

Not because life was easy.

Not because there were no problems ahead.

But because true peace was never meant to come from circumstances. It comes from Him.

Ash shares honestly about her own struggle with anxiety, overthinking, and the temptation to hold on tighter when life feels uncertain. Together, we'll reflect on why peace isn't found in having all the answers, but in trusting the One who does.

This episode is a reminder that you don't have to earn peace, manufacture peace, or strive for peace. Jesus already offers it as a gift.

If you've been carrying fear, anxiety, uncertainty, or trying to control things that were never yours to control, this reflection will encourage you to take a deep breath, loosen your grip, and receive the peace God is already offering.

Because peace isn't found when everything goes your way.

Peace is found when you remember that God is with you, even when it doesn't.

Reflection Questions:

💭 What am I currently looking to for peace that isn't actually giving me lasting peace?

💭 What would it look like if I truly gave my biggest worry to Jesus instead of trying to control it myself?

💭 Am I trying to manufacture peace, or am I receiving the peace Jesus has already given me?
