When the Covid crisis hit, David Kliman, president of The Kliman Group, watched his business plans disintegrate. “The day before the lockdown, I had a full calendar — it was going to be a banner year,” he says. “A day after, I had an empty calendar.”

In that way, he’s like many in the industry, who faced unprecedented difficulties as the pandemic hit. But instead of mourning his lost business or idly waiting for it to come back, he picked up the phone — reaching out to industry members to ask how he could help.
