This evening on Medical Medical we talk about World Stroke Day. World Stroke Day is observed on October 29 every year. The day tries to raise awareness about the prevention and timely treatment of a stroke. When the brain's blood supply is cut off, a stroke occurs. A blood clot or blocked artery is the cause of this in roughly 80% of instances. Strokes can also occur when a blood vessel is injured. To learn more about the symptoms and causes of this delibitating disease, we’re joined by Dr Nkateko Msimeki, General Manager: Health Policy & Medical Advisory at AfroCentric Group.
