Kwantu Feature: ‘My Blood Divides and Unites"

After more than 116 hours, rescue operations at the George building collapse yesterday identified a person that was alive and later rescued him. The man has been identified as 33-year-old tiler Gabriel Guambe. He was found after rescuers heard him speak from under the debris. So far, the George Municipality has confirmed the death toll has now risen to 24 in the building collapse. In a statement issued today, rescue workers continue on site in Victoria Street where they are still hopeful of retrieving workers. To tell u smore about the rescue operation, we’re joined by Colin Deiner, Western Cape Chief of Disaster.

On Medical Mattes this evening we look at World Myopia week which happens from 13th – 19th May. Myopia Awareness week is being observed worldwide, primarily to raise awareness, with emphasis on juvenile-onset myopia. Globally, myopia is a leading cause of avoidable vision loss. By the year 2050, nearly half of the world's population will be myopic. To tell us more about juvenile myopia we’re joined by Dr Steph Lindeque, a specialist ophthalmologist.
