South Africa’s youth is disempowered particularly those living in the rural and township areas. The usual challenges facing the youth are high levels of unemployment; lack of service delivery and increasing inequalities which have now been exacerbated by the COVID-19. Given such dire situation; how is the youth supposed to respond? How can the youth be self-reliant or are they doomed to be dependent on government support indefinitely?
