Current Affairs: Strange weather conditions we’re currently experiencing in South Africa

Before the Covid-19 pandemic devastated the country, the number of employed persons in the country was at 16.4 million and with the recent STATS SA release the number has slightly increased to 16.7 million, which is higher than the 16.4 million recorded before COVID-19 hit us. The youth aged between 15 and 34 years old are the ones that are tremendously locked out of opportunities.

This means 43.4% of the youth are unable to contribute meaningfully to the economy. This evening on our profile interview we talk to Stephen A. Newton - MD of Aleph who represent X, TikTok, Snapchat, Spotify in Africa, about unlocking Africa's Digital Potential. It's not all doom and gloom there are opportunities, they are just not the traditional kind. It's online, and it's social media!  He writes really interesting articles on LinkedIn and is very passionate about up skilling the African Youth who by approximately 2050 will be the workforce of the world in the future.

Social media channels are fast becoming an opportunity for employment - he can talk exclusively about this region and investment retailers are making in Africa alone on Twitter, Snapchat, Yahoo & Spotify.
