According to Saferspaces.org, “More than half of all the women murdered in South Africa were killed by an intimate male partner.” Tonight's story tragically underscores this fact, as 32-year-old Dorcas Didi Lekganyane, a recent honouree in the Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans 2024 in the Climate Change and Environment category, was allegedly stabbed to death by her partner.
