Last month, President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the contentious education reform bill into law - but deferred two clauses for three months. These two clauses relate to the admissions and language policies of schools. The EFF has put pressure on the speaker to clarify Parliament’s role in the two clauses of the BELA Bill that have been deferred. There are concerns that Parliament might be sidelined, and the bill may not be implemented as originally intended. To highlight these concerns we’re joined by Veronica Mente, National Chairperson of the EFF.
